S26SSC: Statutory Supervisors Course
Introduction:
RMS has a strong mining background with a history of providing Registered Mine Managers in a consulting capacity for many of our valued clients. We understand mining and this course has been developed and will be run by our in house Registered Quarry Managers.
Obtain the necessary units of competency: BSBWHS411 - WHS policies, procedures and programs and BSBWHS414 - contribute to WHS risk management.to be eligible to be appointed as a statutory supervisor on a mine site. This is a requirement under Schedule 26 of the WHS (Mines) regulations WA.
Statutory positions relevant to this course would include supervisors in the following areas:

- Place where the mine operator considers the position necessary to reduce the risks to health and safety associated with mining operations
Course Description:
This course is designed for participants in a supervisory position that have a need to understand and implement WHS policies and procedures as part of their duties. The course covers both theoretical and practical implications of the WHS legislation.
Course content includes information from both individual courses combined together with the requirement of completing a prior online theory component. All required content will be covered at the completion of the course with no further projects required. Certification will be issued to successful participants at the completion of the course.
Upon completion of this course and upon passing an applicable legislation examination (conducted by DEMIRS) participants will be eligible to be appointed as Statutory supervisors on a mine site.

Course Content:
- Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs:
- Provide information to work team about WHS policies and procedures
- Implement and monitor work team consultative arrangements for managing WHS
- Implement and monitor organisational procedures for providing WHS training to work team
- Implement and monitor organisational procedures and legal requirements for identifying hazards, and assessing and controlling risks
- Implement and monitor organisational procedures for maintaining WHS records
Contribute to WHS risk management
- Access information and data used to identify hazards, and to assess and control risks
- Contribute to identifying risk management requirements and compliance
- Contribute to workplace hazard identification
- Contribute to WHS risk assessments
- Contribute to developing and implementing risk controls
- Contribute to evaluating effectiveness of risk controls

BSBWHS414 - Contribute to WHS risk management
Course Duration: Two days
Entry Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Have 2 valid forms of identification on the day of training one being a current photo ID.
Sound verbal and written comprehension of the English language is mandatory
Basic computer skills to access online portal and complete pre requisite information
Course Frequency: Weekly

BSBWHS414 - Contribute to WHS risk management
Course Duration: Two days

Must be a minimum of 18 years old

Target Audience:
This course will apply to those with supervisory responsibilities in a work area who have a broad knowledge of WHS policies and contribute well-developed skills in creating solutions to problems through analysis and evaluation of information from a variety of sources.
