S26SMC: Statutory Managers Course


Introduction:

RMS has a strong mining background with a history of providing Registered Mine Managers in a consulting capacity for many of our valued clients.  We understand mining and this course has been developed and will be run by our in house Registered Quarry Managers. 


This course is a follow on from the Statutory Supervisors course and designed for managers working in the WA mining industry.  It provides participants with the additional unit of competency BSBWHS513 -  Lead WHS risk management to meet the requirements for eligibility to be appointed as a Statutory manager on a mine site.

Statutory positions relevent to this course would include:
  • Site senior executive
  • Exploration manager
  • underground manager (non coal)
  • Quarry manager
  • Underground ventilation officer
  • Radiatio safety officer

Course Description:

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to lead the management of work health and safety (WHS) risks in an organisation.
This course is designed for those persons in a management position that have the responsibility to ensure all WHS legislation requirements are implemented in the workplace.
This course covers both theoretical and practical implications of the WHS legislation. Course content includes covering legislative information presented in a face to face classroom situation with the requirement of completing a prior online theory component.
 All required content will be covered at the completion of the course with no further projects required.  Certification will be issued to successful participants on the day of completion of the course.

Upon completion of this course and upon passing an applicable legislation examination (conducted by DMIRS) participants will be eligible to be appointed as a Statutory Manager on a mine site.

Entry Requirements:

Must be a minimum of 18 years old
Have 2 valid forms of identification on the day of training one being a current photo ID.
Sound verbal and written comprehension of the English language is mandatory
Must have basic computer skills to access the online portal and complete pre requisite learning

Pre requisite:
Must have completed BSBWHS 411 and BSBWHS 414
